Marci Calabretta is a teaching assistant for Writing and Rhetoric I at Florida International University, where she received the inaugural M.F.A. Knight Fellowship in poetry. She holds a B.A. in both English and creative writing from Carnegie Mellon University. During her final year at Carnegie Mellon, she constructed and co-taught a survey course on Mythology, Folklore and Fables under the tutelage of astronomy professor and science fiction author Diane Turnshek. The course is still being offered by her co-teacher, Amy Zhang. She is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Print Oriented Bastards, a literary journal designed to showcase emerging writers and artists.
